"I was in a hotel room in Toronto, awake in the middle of the night, when I decided to take this photograph. I wanted the bed to feel like a winter landscape and the pink glow of the door to feel like someone who should be there but isn't. A slow exposure caught the light of the city bouncing off the building outside the window. The photograph is about longing and loneliness."
